Job Overview
The P6 Planner role focuses on creating, managing, and refining intricate project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6 software. This position acts as a vital link between project teams and various support departments to guarantee coordinated planning and smooth implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain precise Primavera P6 databases and project timelines.
- Develop baseline schedules that align with project scopes and key milestones.
- Define detailed activities including durations, dependencies, and any constraints.
- Create and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.
- Establish relationship logic and activity sequences within schedules.
- Conduct thorough schedule analysis, progress reporting, and forecasting such as manpower histograms.
- Oversee schedule revisions and action recovery plans to mitigate delays.
- Collaborate with site teams to confirm actual progress and ensure feasible sequencing of activities.
- Prepare short-term recovery solutions when project delays occur and assist with construction strategy planning.
- Continuously update schedules based on real-time site feedback, tracking planned versus actual performance, particularly critical paths and float usage.
- Generate comprehensive reports including weekly progress, look-ahead schedules, S-curves, KPI dashboards, and delay analyses.
- Formulate detailed Level 1 to 5 programmes tailored to project complexity covering procurement, engineering, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
- Integrate subcontractor and supplier schedules into a unified master programme ensuring logical activity sequencing for effective execution.
- Manage resource allocation including manpower, equipment, and materials, and perform resource loading and leveling.
- Provide support for project cash flow forecasting and coordinate with cost control teams to facilitate earned value analysis.
Qualifications & Experience
- Possess a Diploma, Technical Qualification, High School Certificate, or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Have 6 to 8 years' experience in project planning and scheduling, ideally with exposure to the Oil & Gas sector.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office tools.
- Exhibit strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
