Job description

Position Summary

Join our team as an Overnight Assistant Manager to assist the Store Manager with running store operations aligned with company policies. Lead associates to deliver friendly and helpful service while driving profitable sales results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Store Management Team to achieve sales and profit targets, manage budgets and forecast sales. Use sales and financial reports, economic indicators, and community insights to adapt to market changes and control expenses. Communicate performance outcomes and assist associates in understanding results.
  • Work with management to develop operational strategies; delegate tasks and provide clear guidance to managers and associates. Maintain excellent store standards through attractive merchandise presentation, precise and competitive pricing, and adherence to company policies. Implement new store initiatives related to specific store areas such as Front End, Back End, Fresh, or Operations. Be cross-trained to work proficiently across all store departments as needed.
  • Implement and monitor asset protection and safety measures; uphold quality assurance standards. Conduct safety and operational audits ensuring compliance with Walmart protocols, focusing on safety, security, sales, financial accuracy, and record keeping. Proactively address compliance challenges, including loss prevention.
  • Act as a store ambassador by greeting customers, soliciting feedback, and swiftly addressing concerns within company guidelines to create a positive shopping experience. Lead by example with friendly and helpful customer service techniques and guide associates accordingly.
  • Support community engagement through participation in local events, building relationships with community groups, and taking part in company-sponsored sustainability and social initiatives that strengthen the store’s community role.
  • Guide associates by hosting regular meetings and communicating store goals and initiatives focused on integrated omni-channel retail and overall store performance. Promote employee engagement, recognize achievements, and foster opportunities for professional development. Identify and train high-potential associates to enhance team capabilities.
  • Exhibit company values by providing timely, honest, and respectful performance feedback and managing disciplinary processes. Collaborate with supporting store and district functions including Human Resources.
  • Ensure full compliance with company standards when handling merchandise such as alcohol, ammunition, narcotics, and high-value items. Maintain strict cash control procedures handling up to $250,000 daily.

Salary

The salary range for this role is $56,100 to $66,642 annually, with final compensation determined by relevant experience.
