About the Role

The University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) invites applications for the position of Outlets and Operations Officer within the Venues and Catering team at the Sunshine Coast campus in Sippy Downs. This permanent, full-time role is classified at Professional Level 6, offering a salary range of $95,986 to $103,873 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation. The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing the daily management of UniSC’s catering outlets, assisting in enhancing the hospitality experience across multiple venues on campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily operations at UniSC food outlets, ensuring consistent service quality, compliance with food safety regulations, and a positive workplace environment.
  • Support and engage in the planning and execution of refurbishment and development projects within campus catering venues.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and service personnel to develop seasonal menus, organize staff schedules, and implement strategies to boost customer engagement.
  • Drive operational enhancements that improve profitability, service quality, and team effectiveness.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced and proactive hospitality professional who excels in managing food service operations in demanding environments. They possess strong leadership skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a collaborative attitude to foster innovation and excellence within the team. Key qualifications and attributes include:

  • A degree in hospitality or a related discipline, or equivalent leadership experience coupled with relevant education or training.
  • Proven experience in managing food service operations including staff oversight, budgeting, and adherence to workplace health and safety, food safety, and liquor licensing standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience contributing to or managing hospitality refurbishment or construction initiatives.
  • Capability to work autonomously, effectively prioritize tasks, and comply with operational deadlines across multiple venues.
  • A dedication to creating high-quality, customer-centric food and beverage experiences that enrich campus life.
