Job description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operational Technology (OT) Solution Architect to drive end-to-end solution design and architecture governance within complex enterprises or industrial settings, particularly in mining, resources, or similar heavy industries. The role involves managing architecture within operational environments, understanding site constraints and delivering safety-critical projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture efforts in complex enterprise or industrial domains, ensuring robust end-to-end design and governance.
- Leverage your experience in mining, resources, or comparable heavy-industry sectors to navigate operational conditions and constraints.
- Architect and oversee OT systems including mining control systems, SCADA, industrial networks, connectivity solutions (wireless and fixed), edge infrastructure, and IT/OT integration.
- Apply strong knowledge of OT cybersecurity strategies to safeguard operational data flows and systems.
- Create detailed architecture deliverables such as High-Level Designs, conceptual and logical architectures, integration and data flow representations, risk and standards assessments, and governance submissions.
- Assess designs with respect to cybersecurity, resilience, availability, performance, supportability, maintainability, and business continuity within operational contexts.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders including operational, engineering, delivery teams, and executives.
- Adapt to various delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches; manage ambiguity; deliver agreed contractual milestones independently.
Additional Skills and Qualifications
- TOGAF certification with solid understanding of enterprise and solution architecture frameworks.
- Familiarity with architecture principles, domains, viewpoints, patterns, reference architectures, current and target state modelling, transition roadmaps, and architecture decision records.
- Hands-on experience or certification in ArchiMate modelling highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Science, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical industry experience.
