Overview
AL JAZEERA MEDICAL CENTER is looking to recruit a proficient Specialist Orthopedic Surgeon to join its well-established Department of Orthopedics. The candidate will handle comprehensive surgical and non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, enhancing the Center's commitment to clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of all musculoskeletal injuries and diseases, including trauma, sports-related injuries, degenerative disorders, tumors, and congenital abnormalities.
- Conduct various orthopedic surgeries such as joint replacements, arthroscopic interventions, trauma surgeries, spine operations (subject to specialization), and pediatric orthopedics if applicable.
- Manage patient care from pre-operative evaluation through post-operative recovery and supervise rehabilitation strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including radiologists and general practitioners to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain strict adherence to medical ethics, hospital protocols, and regulations established by Qatar's Ministry of Public Health.
- Engage actively in professional development activities, clinical audits, and educational programs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess an MD, MBBS, or an equivalent accredited medical degree.
- Successful completion of a recognized Orthopedic Surgery residency program.
- Hold board certification as a Specialist in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Have a valid medical license from the country of origin and be eligible for registration with Qatar's Department of Healthcare Professions.
- For consultant roles, a minimum of 5 years of experience post-board certification is required; for specialist roles, at least 3 years is necessary.
- Preferably have at least 2 years of clinical experience practicing within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region to ensure familiarity with local patient demographics and healthcare frameworks.
- Must be fluent in spoken and written English; knowledge of Arabic is considered a strong advantage.
