We are seeking a seasoned Security Guard to join a team at an industrial facility situated approximately 45 minutes southeast of Calgary, Alberta. This role requires candidates to be local residents of Calgary or its immediate surroundings.
Role Details
This full-time night-shift Security Guard position is based at an industrial site 45 minutes SE of Calgary.
Compensation: $18.25 per hour plus 1 hour of paid daily travel time.
Shift: Night
Location: Industrial Facility near Calgary, AB
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a secure and safe environment through regular patrols and surveillance monitoring.
- Inspect premises including buildings, equipment, and access points.
- Manage access control by authorizing entry to permitted individuals.
- Report any irregularities, enforce policies, and if necessary, restrain rule violators to prevent losses or damage.
- Direct traffic flow by guiding drivers as required.
- Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments, Occurrence Reports, and Incident Reports when necessary.
- Perform inspections on company vehicles and alert the Field Manager when maintenance is needed.
- Control building and equipment settings to maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain punctuality for shifts and communicate proactively with supervisors if unable to attend.
- Work effectively both independently and within a team.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid Alberta Security License (mandatory).
- Minimum one-year experience in industrial security roles.
- Class 5 Driver's License with no more than six demerit points.
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification preferred but not mandatory.
- CSTS2020 certification (required).
- H2S Awareness certification is preferred.
- Strong objectivity, emotional control, and reliability.
- Ability to comprehend and follow detailed verbal and written instructions.
- Well-versed in security operations and associated protocols.
- Willingness to complete site orientations when needed.
