Job Summary and Responsibilities
- Promptly and courteously respond to in-room dining telephone calls.
- Accurately record guest food and beverage orders, ensuring order details including room numbers and special requests are confirmed.
- Aid guests by suggesting menu options and explaining item details, ingredients, and alternatives when necessary.
- Precisely enter orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Relay dietary requirements and allergy information to kitchen staff.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service personnel to guarantee timely and accurate order delivery.
- Follow up on orders to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
- Professionally handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints.
- Encourage upselling of additional food and beverage items appropriately.
- Maintain detailed records of orders and guest preferences.
- Adhere to all hotel policies regarding service protocols, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Exhibit a professional and welcoming telephone demeanor at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Prior experience in in-room dining, room service, food and beverage, or similar hotel roles is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of food and beverage products along with service expectations.
- Proficiency in English with strong verbal and telephone communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems.
- Excellent customer service aptitude and interpersonal skills.
- Strong focus on detail to ensure accuracy in order taking.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Professional appearance and a positive attitude are essential.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
- Additional language skills are a plus.
