Job Overview
- Position: Order Taker Captain / Food & Beverage (F&B) Service Captain
- Department: Food and Beverage
- Reports To: Cafe Manager or F&B Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Develop thorough knowledge of the full food and beverage menu to effectively respond to customer inquiries
- Recommend daily specials, coffee combinations, and items with higher profit margins to enhance overall sales
- Accurately record customers' food and drink orders using the POS system
- Communicate any special diets, allergies, or custom orders precisely to kitchen staff
- Engage with guests during their meal to confirm satisfaction levels
- Provide training to new team members on order taking procedures, table setup, and service protocols
- Oversee timely delivery of food and efficient clearing of tables to keep service swift
- Maintain clear communication and courteous interaction with customers
- Present a friendly demeanor and maintain a neat, professional appearance
- Be capable of standing and walking extensively during high-demand periods
- Experience working in cafes, restaurants, or fast-casual dining settings is advantageous
