As New Zealand's exclusive Oracle Global Cloud Elite partner, Deloitte boasts over 17,300 Oracle experts worldwide and a longstanding presence in the Oracle ecosystem since 1997. We focus on helping clients implement Oracle solutions that modernize operations, enable better decision-making, and drive measurable outcomes. We invest continuously in our people and capabilities to maintain leadership in the Oracle Cloud market across New Zealand.
Role Overview
We are seeking a senior Oracle Cloud HCM Functional Lead to join our Wellington-based team. This role involves driving the functional delivery of Oracle Cloud HCM transformation initiatives for major public and private sector clients throughout New Zealand. You will lead end-to-end functional workstreams, engage with senior client stakeholders, influence solution design, and mentor junior team members in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate client workshops to collect business requirements and translate them into practical Oracle Cloud HCM designs.
- Manage functional design, configuration, testing, cutover, and deployment efforts within Oracle Cloud HCM modules.
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with senior business and IT stakeholders, driving aligned decision-making.
- Take ownership of solution quality, risk management, delivery planning input, and outcomes across complex programs.
- Contribute to business development, including proposal writing, presentations, thought leadership, and Oracle practice growth activities.
- Coach and develop junior consultants, sharing knowledge and fostering delivery excellence.
Additional Senior Responsibilities
- Participate actively in sales pursuits, shaping Oracle Cloud HCM solutions aligned with client goals.
- Evaluate opportunity scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and propose high-level solution options and business benefits.
- Author compelling proposal content responding to client tenders.
- Assist in project planning, ensuring all complexities and risks are clearly documented.
- Lead solution demonstrations and client discussions during presentations.
- Oversee end-to-end functional solution design including process flows, integrations, and data dependencies.
- Guide implementation teams and offshore resources on functional design matters.
- Review deliverables to ensure quality and alignment with industry best practices.
- Represent projects in governance forums and manage escalation of risks and issues for timely resolution.
- Support business readiness and adoption by addressing change management risks with stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Over 10 years of functional consulting experience in HCM, with extensive Oracle Cloud HCM expertise and hands-on configuration experience.
- Proven track record completing at least five full lifecycle HCM implementations, ideally including greenfield Oracle Cloud projects.
- Strong grasp of end-to-end HCM workflows, cross-functional integration points, and workforce management processes.
- Excellent client-facing communication, stakeholder relationship skills, and ability to engage from operational teams to executive levels.
- Leadership skills to build, motivate, and develop teams in complex project environments.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud certifications is highly preferred; experience in Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft or other SaaS HCM platforms is also welcome.
- Consulting background in client-driven environments is advantageous.
- Project management capabilities are beneficial but not required.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

- Subsidized health and income protection insurance.
- 22 days of annual leave.
- Regular social, team-building events, and community volunteer opportunities.
- Wellbeing and sustainability initiatives.
