Role Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye exams and assessments.
• Prescribe glasses and contact lenses tailored to patient needs.
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and conditions using advanced diagnostics.
• Utilize state-of-the-art equipment including digital imaging and visual field testing to ensure precise evaluation.
• Educate patients on eye health, preventive strategies, and treatment plans in an understandable manner.
• Work collaboratively with clinic staff to maintain efficient patient flow and deliver excellent service.
• Maintain thorough and accurate clinical records consistent with regulatory standards.
• Contribute to maintaining a high-quality, patient-oriented experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an Optometrist in Alberta, holding a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school.
• Clinical proficiency in eye exams, refraction, prescribing eyewear/contact lenses, and managing common ocular issues.
• Competence in operating diagnostic tools such as digital retinal and corneal imaging and computerized visual field testing.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effectively communicating clinical results and care instructions.
• A collaborative approach suited to a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
• Strong attention to detail with reliable and compliant record-keeping capabilities.
• Dedication to continuous learning and staying updated on optometric advancements and eye care technology.
• Previous experience in retail or clinical settings and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are advantageous.
