Position Overview

We are looking for a full-time Optometrist to join our Grimsby location on a permanent basis. This role involves working 40 hours per week during daytime shifts, delivering high-quality eye healthcare services as part of Asda Opticians' dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens assessments, and extended service eye care. Collaboration with the Dispensing Optician Manager is essential to support training initiatives, coaching, and maintain department standards. The role also includes participation in NHS extended service contracts by delivering treatments and ongoing monitoring of eye health conditions, with support to obtain relevant accreditations.

Working Hours and Schedule

  • Monday and Saturday: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
  • Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
  • Wednesday and Sunday: Off

Applicant Profile

Applicants must be fully qualified and registered Optometrists with the General Optical Council (GOC). NHS performer registration for the relevant area or health board is required, as well as accreditation for MECs or WECs, or willingness to achieve this within 12 months with company support. Compliance mandates proof of NHS performer listing and two clinical references. For applicants in Wales, additional WECS and WGOS accreditations must be provided.
