Role Summary

This full-time position based in Bengaluru requires an Optometrist to execute comprehensive eye examinations such as refraction, binocular vision testing, and screening for common eye diseases while ensuring detailed and accurate patient records. The Optometrist will be responsible for prescribing lenses, advising on optimal eyewear selections, and working alongside store staff to ensure proper lens fitting and frame choices. Additional duties include educating clients on eye health maintenance, lens care, and scheduling follow-ups, following clinical guidelines and compliance standards. The role also involves supporting daily eye care operations in the store, promoting excellent patient satisfaction, and engaging in training or quality improvement activities when needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must hold a formal qualification in optometry (Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s) and have valid registration as per local regulations.
• Proficiency in essential optometric clinical skills like refraction, contact lens fitting, binocular vision assessment, and basic ocular health screening.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to empathetically explain diagnoses, prescriptions, and eyewear options.
• Meticulous in maintaining clinical documentation, patient records, and prescriptions with strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
• Comfortable working in a retail environment in collaboration with sales and store teams to offer cohesive customer service.
• Adherence to ethical standards, patient confidentiality, clinical procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Openness to learning new technologies, diagnostic equipment, and internal systems; prior experience in optical retail or eye clinics is advantageous.
• Basic digital literacy including computer software and electronic record-keeping systems; familiarity with point-of-sale or practice management software is beneficial.
