Optical Metrology / Measurement Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable Optical Metrology / Measurement Engineer to join our team in Frankfurt, Germany. This role sits at the intersection of optics, precision measurement, engineering, and advanced technology, presenting an exciting challenge where accuracy, repeatability, and performance are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and fine-tune optical measurement and metrology solutions tailored for complex customer applications.
• Engage with clients to fully grasp measurement needs, challenges, and desired performance outcomes.
• Choose and configure suitable optical measurement technologies and systems for varying projects.
• Conduct thorough measurement data analysis, validation procedures, and system characterization.
• Assist in system integration, commissioning, and optimization phases of measurement setups.
• Evaluate factors such as measurement uncertainty, accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility for quality assurance.
• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical and measurement-related issues.
• Collaborate closely with research, development, engineering, sales, and applications teams to craft optimal measurement solutions.
• Lead customer demonstrations, technical assessments, and trial applications to showcase capabilities.
• Provide ongoing technical guidance throughout the entire project lifecycle for customers.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing measurement methodologies, system efficiency, and overall client satisfaction.
• Maintain up-to-date expertise on innovations in optical metrology and precision measurement techniques.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in optical metrology, precision measurement, dimensional measurement, industrial optical systems, or related disciplines.
• Strong both practical experience and theoretical knowledge of measurement principles and methods.
• Skilled in using and assessing optical measurement or metrology technologies.
• Capable of conducting detailed measurement data analysis and evaluating system performance metrics.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.
• Aptitude for interpreting complex technical requirements and implementing practical solutions.
• Experience interfacing with customers in precision engineering, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
• Excellent communication skills in both German (native) and English, capable of engaging technical stakeholders at all levels.
• Methodical, hands-on approach focused on resolving challenging measurement issues.

Qualifications

A technical degree or equivalent certification in fields such as optics, physics, metrology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related area is preferred.
