Operations Technician

Job Overview

The Operations Technician role at Eurofins involves a combined responsibility of environmental field sampling alongside laboratory logistics and coordination tasks. This position supports both the Logistics Team by executing professional sampling activities and the Sample Reception team by ensuring prompt dispatch of samples and managing inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect environmental samples across diverse customer sites according to schedules set by the logistics team lead.
• Adhere strictly to established sampling procedures and safety protocols throughout all field activities.
• Ensure accurate labeling, proper storage, and transportation of samples under necessary temperature-controlled conditions.
• Maintain sampling tools and field kits in a clean and fully functional state.
• Safely operate and care for company vehicles, complying with all traffic safety laws.
• Promptly communicate any site-related problems, hazards, or delays encountered during fieldwork.
• Project a professional image during client site visits.
• Manage the Logistics Mailbox and scheduling duties when the Team Lead is unavailable.
• Coordinate daily sample dispatch to subcontract laboratories via DHL, guaranteeing correct packaging and thorough documentation.
• Prepare and distribute sampling kits as requested by both internal and external clients, ensuring thorough traceability through proper record management.
• Handle purchase orders for laboratory consumables, sampling materials, and operational supplies.
• Receive incoming deliveries and verify accuracy against accompanying paperwork.
• Organize and maintain comprehensive records related to shipments, orders, and laboratory logistics.
• Maintain effective communication with laboratory teams, couriers, suppliers, and subcontract partners.
• Oversee procurement processes for the department.

Additional Information

Work location is at Eurofins Environment Testing facility on the Little Island site in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. The position requires onsite presence with a temporary employment status.
