Role Purpose
The Operations Manager will oversee the daily management of SOS Group's commercial cleaning activities across multiple client sites. This includes fostering enduring client relationships, managing and mentoring a team of area managers and cleaning staff, and ensuring contracts meet high standards of quality, compliance, and financial performance. This hands-on leadership position suits proactive individuals skilled at problem-solving, launching new contracts, and driving operational excellence.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain strong client connections through constant communication, ensuring service standards, audit results, KPIs, and reports align with client expectations.
- Lead the seamless start-up of new contracts, transitioning efficiently from award to full operational execution.
- Regularly track KPIs to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Prepare and deliver detailed operational performance reports to senior leadership.
- Effectively manage the commercial cleaning team, promoting business growth and profitability.
- Train, supervise, and manage staffing to maintain uninterrupted service delivery.
- Conduct employee onboarding, on-the-job training, attendance, and leave monitoring.
- Perform frequent performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and development plans.
- Collaborate with fellow operations managers and stakeholders to ensure nationwide service excellence.
- Supervise cleaning services across diverse commercial sites, supporting area managers and ensuring smooth operations.
- Establish and enforce policies enhancing operational efficiency.
- Control and oversee proper use of cleaning materials at client locations.
- Stay informed on industry developments, integrating new technologies and best practices.
- Ensure safe working environments for staff on site and coordinate with clients on health and safety issues.
- Comply with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 quality and environmental management standards, maintaining relevant records and documentation.
- Apply SOS Group's Quality and Environmental policies consistently.
- Address internal and client needs effectively and contribute to process improvements by reporting corrective actions and suggestions.
Education & Qualifications
- A diploma or bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Possession of a valid full driver's license is necessary.
Experience & Skills
- Proven background in cleaning or facilities management is essential.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing busy, dynamic teams.
- Excellent customer service orientation and dedication to client satisfaction.
- Confident communication skills for client interaction and senior management presentations.
- Highly organized, solution-driven, and composed under pressure running multi-site operations.
