About the Role
The Operations Incharge will oversee the concluding phase of factory operations, including Quality Control (QC), folding, packing, sorting, dispatch, van loading, driver coordination, logistics assistance, and employee management. This position entails supervising around 60 employees working across 24/7 shifts, emphasizing productivity enhancement, adherence to process protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality maintenance, discipline in dispatch, manpower control, and continuous process refinement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily activities of QC, folding, packing, sorting, rack transfers, and dispatch.
- Track hourly and daily production output compared to set targets.
- Ensure seamless workflow from finishing through to packing and dispatch to avoid bottlenecks.
- Assign manpower considering workload, priority orders, and dispatch schedules.
- Supervise and guide a team of roughly 60 employees, maintaining discipline, attendance, and productivity.
- Professionally handle and supervise less skilled or challenging labour to ensure work discipline.
- Oversee QC processes to meet finishing and packing standards, minimizing packing errors, reworks, missing items, and dispatching wrong items.
- Perform random quality inspections before dispatch.
- Ensure accurate barcode scanning, sorting, packing, and rack placement procedures.
- Oversee factory dispatch operations, ensuring orders are prepared before cutoff times.
- Coordinate sorting and dispatch by route and outlet.
- Supervise van loading/unloading and liaise with drivers, assistants, and logistics support teams.
- Make sure vehicles depart the factory as per planned schedules.
- Promptly escalate issues concerning vehicle delays, manpower shortages, or dispatch problems.
- Enforce employee compliance with SOPs and process standards.
- Train new hires and conduct refresher training for existing staff as needed.
- Identify and promptly address any SOP noncompliance.
- Implement new operational procedures, scanning systems, and management directives.
- Detect operational bottlenecks and suggest practical, efficient improvements.
- Minimize unnecessary movements, waiting periods, repeated handling, and optimize manpower use.
- Enhance workstation layouts and improve manpower utilization.
- Monitor productivity metrics per employee and per process.
- Ensure effective shift handovers covering pending work, dispatch, rework, manpower allocation, and order priorities.
- Prepare fundamental MIS and operational reports utilizing Excel or system data.
- Assist management in boosting productivity, quality, dispatch accuracy, and process discipline.
- Promote a process-driven operation minimizing person-dependent workflows.
- Maintain a strong presence on the floor, resolving operational issues during shifts.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Prospective candidates should preferably have backgrounds in warehouse, fulfillment, manufacturing, packaging, logistics, garment, FMCG, or factory operations.
