Company and Role Overview
Join V S Plastics in Bangalore as an Operations Manager responsible for overseeing all daily activities around sales order coordination, production scheduling, raw material management, inventory control, dispatch coordination, and manpower supervision to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products in line with customer expectations.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage customer orders from receipt through to fulfillment, collaborating with sales to confirm SKUs, quantities, colors, packing, and delivery schedules while maintaining order fulfillment reports and promptly addressing delivery risks.
- Develop detailed production plans daily, weekly, and monthly considering customer demand, stock levels, machine and mold availability, raw materials, and workforce, maintaining production targets per SKU and coordinating resources accordingly.
- Oversee inventory management of raw materials and finished goods including granules, additives, labels, packaging materials, and stock accuracy by reconciling physical and system data.
- Serve as the liaison between sales, production, warehouse, and dispatch teams to ensure operational alignment and feasible delivery commitments.
- Administer manpower allocation and attendance management, monitoring productivity and coordinating with HR for recruitment and managing overtime to optimize workforce efficiency.
- Track and analyze daily and weekly production performance metrics such as output, efficiency, rejection rates, downtime, and machine utilization; implement corrective measures as needed.
- Work closely with quality assurance to ensure adherence to specifications, address customer complaints, and prevent dispatch of defective products.
- Coordinate procurement activities by monitoring consumption, purchase orders, and delivery timelines to avoid disruptions in production.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives targeting reduction of material waste, energy use, labor and machine inefficiencies, inventory excesses, and emergency expenses.
Reporting and Meetings
- Conduct daily reviews of stock levels, orders, dispatch requirements, production status, and resource availability.
- Prepare weekly production plans and review sales order statuses, stock reports, efficiency, and quality metrics with management including cross-functional teams.
- Compile monthly operations MIS reports covering key performance indicators such as production efficiency, order fulfillment, quality, stock accuracy, delivery timeliness, and cost metrics; recommend corrective actions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-time order fulfillment rate, pending orders, and order delay durations.
- Production output vs plan, machine utilization, efficiency, and rejection percentages.
- Inventory accuracy, stock-outs, excess inventory, and aging of finished goods.
- Dispatch accuracy, on-time dispatch, and errors in quantity.
- Cost elements including material wastage, overtime, emergency purchases, and production costs.
- Customer service metrics focused on complaints, delivery delays, and supply shortages.
Authority and Decision-Making
- Approve daily production priorities, machine and mold allocation, manpower deployment, and dispatch sequencing consistent with management directives.
- Authority to halt production for quality or safety issues and escalate material or equipment problems.
- Major operational decisions such as pricing, credit, significant purchases, and capital investments require higher management consent.
Desired Candidate Profile and Skills
- Five to ten years’ experience in manufacturing operations, preferably within plastics manufacturing including injection molding, thermoforming, FMCG, or food packaging sectors.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, production planning, inventory control, ERP/MIS usage, stock reconciliation, reporting, cost analysis, and manufacturing KPIs.
- Leadership qualities including accountability, problem-solving, communication, discipline, decisiveness, and time management abilities.
- Capacity to handle pressure, numerical acumen, and the ability to coordinate complex operations effectively.

- Position is full-time and onsite at Bangalore.
