Operations Analyst - Clearing & Settlements

Overview

This role supports the Clearing & Settlements division by executing critical daily operational activities encompassing trade flow monitoring, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting within global listed derivatives markets, based in Kolkata, West Bengal. The employer is a longstanding global financial services entity with over three decades of expertise in listed derivatives clearing, servicing clients across various international markets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure successful daily completion of activities across back-office, middle-office, reconciliation, and exchange platforms.
• Conduct start-of-day (SOD) position verifications, monitor trade flows, and identify and resolve discrepancies between front-end systems, client platforms, and trading venues.
• Perform T+1 (next day) reconciliations involving exchanges, third-party brokers, and internal booking systems, correcting operational breaks promptly.
• Collaborate with global operational teams, clients, clearinghouses, and vendors to address outstanding issues within established deadlines.
• Manage exchange fee reconciliations and verify timely submission of regulatory reports such as MiFID/MiFIR and EMIR.

Requirements

• Previous experience in clearing and settlements, derivatives trade operations, middle office, or back-office functions.
• Strong reconciliation skills, especially in managing trade, position, or transaction breaks.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting, with preference for knowledge of EMIR and MiFIR submission protocols.
• Solid understanding of Exchange Traded Derivatives, including Futures and Options, as well as financial market processes.
• Competent in Excel at moderate to advanced levels, coupled with excellent communication, analytical thinking, and independent work capabilities under tight deadlines.
