Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily verification of trade captures, valuations, deal validations, and reconcile end-of-day positions.
  • Monitor adherence to operational limits including positions, counterparties, and portfolios; promptly escalate any breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and delegation frameworks while resolving discrepancies within set timelines.
  • Develop, operate, and maintain liquidity forecasting models and Asset Liability Management (ALM) analytics such as Net Interest Income (NII), Economic Value of Equity (EVE), Value at Risk (VaR), repricing gap, and duration.
  • Generate forecasts for disbursements and net cash requirements to support Front Office activities.
  • Perform balance sheet stress tests and scenario analyses to assess impacts of various risk factors.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, model assumptions, and analytic lifecycle management for audit and validation purposes.
  • Oversee treasury market-data feeds, system configurations, and data governance; collaborate closely with IT to facilitate system upgrades including SAP TRM and Capital Markets System.
  • Prepare operational control dashboards and comprehensive ALCO reporting packages featuring key performance indicators across liquidity, funding, ALM, and investments.
  • Coordinate effectively with Front Office, Risk Management, Finance, and Audit teams as part of the three lines of defence framework.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Financial or Risk Engineering, Mathematics or relevant quantitative discipline; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in middle office roles, treasury operational control, product control, or ALM/quantitative analytics in major banking or multilateral development banking environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of middle office controls, trade lifecycle processes, limit monitoring, and Treasury Management System integration.
  • Proficient in ALM analytics methodologies including NII, EVE, gap and duration calculations, supported by stress testing and P&L/position controls.
  • Solid data modeling skills using SQL and Python; familiarity with financial certifications such as FRM or CFA is highly preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic and/or French, with preference for both languages, is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical mindset capable of interpreting balance-sheet risk measures and forecasts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with rigorous control mindset ensuring accuracy in P&L, reconciliations, and limit monitoring.
  • Demonstrates integrity by maintaining independence in control functions as part of the first line of defence feeding the second and third lines.
  • Competency in data governance, Treasury Management Systems, market data feeds, and programming in SQL/Python.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to interact effectively with multiple departments.
  • Maintains disciplined documentation standards and regular model validation practices.
  • Ensures timely and precise P&L and position controls with no unaddressed limit breaches.
  • Supports reliability and independent validation of ALM analytics and associated models.
  • Guarantees the integrity of data across treasury systems and timely delivery of ALCO reporting.
