About the Role

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) invites applications for a permanent full-time Operating Theatre Storesperson position based at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. This role is critical to maintaining smooth operations within the perioperative environment by ensuring consistent inventory and stock levels of both sterile and non-sterile consumables.

The position operates 38 hours per week with a classification of Clinical Support Officer - Level 3. The annual remuneration package ranges from $73,915 to $76,219 plus superannuation and a 17.5% leave loading, when applicable. Applications close on 28 August 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory levels through electronic ordering and stock receipt management.
  • Monitor and manage back orders, escalating issues to Nurse Unit Manager or designated personnel.
  • Regularly rotate sterile stock by removing expired or compromised items to uphold safety standards.
  • Perform daily replenishment of consumables to meet theatre unit demands.
  • Coordinate supply orders for specialized needs in liaison with Clinical Nurse Specialists.
  • Manage deliveries ensuring stock integrity and report risks or discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist with stock audits and quality assurance activities as required.
  • Apply stringent infection control protocols in handling all stock items.
  • Deliver cost-efficient consumable management within the perioperative setting.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in managing inventory control or resource management in a healthcare setting, including purchase order tracking and managing critical stock timelines.
  • Competent with computer-based stock ordering and inventory systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, suited for interaction with varied stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively both within a team and independently with minimal direction.
  • Exemplary organizational capabilities to handle fast-paced, dynamic work requirements and achieve outcomes.
