Role Overview and Responsibilities

We are seeking an OpenTelemetry Engineer with a strong foundation in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles. The ideal candidate will be adept at reliability monitoring, incident management, and automation. Responsibilities include managing and operating workloads primarily on Kubernetes platforms, leveraging OpenTelemetry tools for traces, metrics, and logs collection and exportation, and using monitoring and observability solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• In-depth knowledge of SRE concepts including reliability, monitoring, incident management, and automation.
• Practical experience with OpenTelemetry components such as collectors, exporters, and tracing mechanisms.
• Proficiency in managing containerized workloads on Kubernetes or similar platforms.
• Strong familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and command-line operations.
• Capability in scripting languages like Bash and Python to automate operational tasks and tooling.
• Experience utilizing monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk for observability.
• Understanding of ITIL frameworks, especially incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills complemented by effective communication and documentation abilities.
