Position Overview
The Offshore Methods Engineer role is integral to the COMP2 / Ruya12 project within Saipem’s Subsea Engineering Department, reporting directly to the Project Manager. The successful candidate will contribute engineering expertise to support project installation activities, particularly focused on shallow water operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive engineering installation packages including procedures, rigging drawings, checklists, trial lift protocols, and load-out procedures.
- Coordinate closely with the Installation Analysis team—naval, structural, and pipelay engineers—to provide inputs and thoroughly review design and analysis reports.
- Oversee operational phases, handling temporary material procurement, vessel mobilization, and subcontractor contracts.
- Provide technical assistance and support vessel management teams during mobilization, testing, and installation phases onshore and offshore.
- Lead and manage a team composed of junior methods and operations engineers as well as draftsmen, ensuring timely preparation of installation documentation.
Candidate Profile
- Educational background: Master’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering preferred, or other related engineering discipline.
- Experience: Between 5 to 10 years specializing in installation engineering, including offshore and yard operational follow-ups.
- Language proficiency: Fluent English communication skills.
- Technical expertise: Experience with shallow water installation activities such as S-Lay, jackets, decks, cables, and structural installations within EPC frameworks.
- Familiarity with offshore transportation and installation processes in both onshore and offshore environments.
- IT proficiency: Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel (advanced level), PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Project, and knowledgeable about main offshore transportation & installation codes (DNV, API, etc.).
