Job description

Role Overview

The Officer - Quality Check is responsible for enforcing governance and conducting regular self-audits to verify Retail Credit operations comply with relevant regulations and product guidelines. This position demands continuous scrutiny of systems, processes, and infrastructure to ensure operational risks are properly identified, managed, and reported according to established standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct periodic self-audit checks to confirm Retail Credit adherence to regulatory and program requirements.
  • Continuously assess systems, procedures, and infrastructure to maintain effective policies and standards that help in operational risk management and reporting.
  • Detect and document any breaches in policy or process discovered during self-assessment activities.
  • Oversee and maintain the Operational Risk Self-Assessment Program through Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSAs).
  • Recommend enhancements to policies, procedures, and systems to improve processes when necessary.
  • Support the Credit Initiation team with closing operational risk incidents in the electronic Governance, Risk, and Compliance system (eGRC).
  • Ensure full compliance with Consumer Protection Regulations pertinent to Retail Credit products and practices.
  • Organize meetings and awareness sessions to present findings from quality assurance and self-assessments.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the line manager relating to these duties.

Experience and Education

  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience in banking within a similar role encompassing quality checking and credit functions.
  • At least a Bachelor's degree is required for eligibility.
