Role Summary

This Officer: Buyer is responsible for sourcing and procuring spare parts, materials, and fuel essential to support continuous operations of the transport division at DPW Logistics Limited. The role entails managing procurement activities for the transportation unit’s equipment and operational resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals, taking into account technical requirements, budgets, and market conditions.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specify precise requirements.
• Perform market research to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and select appropriate vendors.
• Develop and nurture supplier relationships to ensure clear communication, performance monitoring, and conflict resolution.
• Lead negotiations with vendors on contracts, terms, and prices to secure cost-effective and prompt procurement solutions.
• Monitor supplier performance, manage risks, and implement corrective measures to ensure compliance and value maximization.
• Oversee end-to-end procurement including requisition processing, purchase order creation, supplier assessments, and coordination of deliveries.
• Verify technical specifications in collaboration with internal teams to ensure procurement documentation is accurate and complete.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, quality inspections, and ensure compliance with standards and contracts.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiencies within procurement operations.
• Analyze pricing trends and supplier performance to negotiate competitive rates and achieve budget optimization.
• Enforce cost control measures such as contract management, demand forecasting, and optimizing inventory.
• Ensure adherence to procurement regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier reliability, quality, and legal compliance.
• Maintain thorough records to support audits and compliance requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• A graduate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• At least 3 to 5 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Proven experience in aligning purchasing decisions with budget constraints.
• Capability in managing relationships across varying organizational levels.
• Familiarity with legal and regulatory procurement standards.
• Comprehensive understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
• Strong awareness of market conditions pertinent to procurement.
