Role Overview
We are seeking an OFCI Procurement Manager to join our data centre team in Auckland. The role involves acting as the main coordinator between the Sourcing team and Construction project teams, overseeing the complete procurement and delivery cycle for Owner-Furnished, Contractor-Installed (OFCI) equipment. This position ensures the timely and cost-effective acquisition of critical equipment for large-scale data centre projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement and supply chain activities for major mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
- Manage contract administration, evaluating terms and enforcing compliance.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Manager to develop and maintain detailed project procurement plans.
- Support Single Source Justifications and Scope of Work document reviews.
- Serve as primary OFCI buyer and expeditor, coordinating multiple teams for timely equipment delivery and installation.
- Formulate negotiation strategies and lead or assist in vendor negotiations.
- Manage RFx processes including conducting commercial assessments and organizing pre-bid meetings.
- Handle processing of change orders, RFIs, and submittals efficiently.
- Establish and enhance contract process controls and compliance measures.
- Generate accurate and timely reporting for stakeholders and clients.
- Conduct price analysis, cost modeling, and benchmarking to secure competitive pricing.
- Advise on procurement strategies and vendor negotiations for long-lead items.
- Monitor delivery schedules to ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Identify and address supply chain risks including vendor capacity and logistics challenges.
- Work closely with construction teams to ensure procurement schedules meet project requirements.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives within procurement workflows and reporting mechanisms.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal teams to support organizational goals.
Candidate Qualifications
- Substantial experience in procurement, supply chain management, or construction project controls, ideally within mission-critical or data centre environments.
- In-depth understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and related equipment.
- Proven capability to manage complex purchase orders and vendor relationships effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Competence with procurement and inventory management software systems.
- Experience with RFP processes, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.
- Ability to perform factory inspections and interpret technical specifications accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
- Effective communicator and collaborator across cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is advantageous.
- Willingness to work onsite and travel as necessary for inspections and coordination efforts.
- Experience driving process improvements and applying lean principles in supply chain operations.
