Job description

Overview

The Counterintelligence Operational Support Team delivers comprehensive Counterintelligence (CI) analytical services. This involves integrating raw intelligence data from various sources and classifications to identify foreign intelligence threats, trends, structures, and locations. The role supports commanders across six Air Force Central (AFCENT) front-line units in the CENTCOM area of responsibility, plus one CONUS-based unit, by providing both urgent and non-urgent Force Protection threat assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze intelligence from multiple origins to evaluate, interpret, and forecast national security matters, focusing regionally or functionally.
  • Offer all-source analytical support across collections, operations, investigations, and defense intelligence needs.
  • Review CI2MS activities related to unit COINEs, investigations, and source records.
  • Support investigations and AFOSI COINEs by identifying, exploiting, and mitigating criminal, terrorist, and intelligence threats.
  • Produce compliant products aligned with ICD and AFOSI standards; ensure proper database uploads.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of host nation and third-country intelligence/security services that threaten Defense Air Force (DAF) interests.
  • Evaluate intelligence reports and disseminate raw and finished products to relevant agencies.
  • Create detailed foreign intelligence, terrorism information, or analytic products.
  • Fuse multi-source data—including terrorism cell structures, plotting attack plans including fire-points and timelines.
  • Manage collection by assessing field terrorism reports, correlating group structures with other state or transnational threats.
  • Support target package creation to neutralize threats towards 24 EFIS, subunits, and USAF/DoD personnel/resources in the USCENTCOM/AFCENT region.
  • Develop briefings detailing coordination among hostile groups and their potential impacts.
  • Establish and maintain communication with military and national agencies.
  • Travel within CENTCOM AOR for onsite/offsite support as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
  • Possess a Top-Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI at the time of hiring.
  • Minimum of six years’ experience in all-source analysis involving HUMINT, SIGINT, IMINT, or OSINT.
  • At least one year of in-depth analytical support for counterintelligence, counterterrorism, or HUMINT operations concluded within the last three years.
  • One year of analytical or operational experience with DOD National Defense Strategy priority nations (Russia, China, Iran).
  • Proven six years in creating intelligence analytical products.
  • Excellent writing abilities; capable of contributing effectively to joint intelligence teams and delivering compelling briefings.
  • Familiarity with tools and systems such as Microsoft Office suite, Analyst Notebook, SIPR/JWICS, M3, SOMM, Proton, Intellink, CIDNE, CIA WIRE, HOT-R or CHROME, NCTC Online, and J2 DCP Portal used within the last three years.
  • Maintain valid passport and visas; capable of worldwide deployment and meeting medical clearance requirements.

Education

Minimum education requirement is a High School Diploma. A Bachelor’s degree in international affairs, national security, Arabic studies, international business, terrorism analysis, intelligence, or related disciplines is preferred.

Additional Information

  • Knowledge of AFOSI I2MS or CI2MS systems is an advantage.
