Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join our team at Werribee Mercy Hospital (WMH). In this role, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative occupational therapy department comprising 31 clinicians working across emergency, acute, subacute, community, and outpatient hand therapy services. The role also includes involvement with the Hospital in the Home (HITH)/Gem@Home allied health team, which delivers short-term rehabilitation in clients' homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-informed, person-centered occupational therapy care to a designated caseload as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide clinical guidance and support to Grade 1 therapists and assist with daily operational tasks within the assigned area.
• Contribute to development and leadership initiatives within the inpatient occupational therapy service.
• Engage in professional supervision provided by a Grade 3 occupational therapist and take advantage of supervision opportunities within the team.
• Maintain strong collaborative links between HITH/Gem@Home and acute inpatient OT teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy and current full registration with AHPRA.
• At least two years of solid clinical experience, preferably with subacute care focusing on neurological and stroke rehabilitation.
• Proven excellence in clinical practice, time management, organization, communication, and adaptability.
• Demonstrated compassion, flexibility, and positive approach to patient care and case management.
• Ability to foster respectful, supportive working relationships and contribute effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
• Hold a full driver’s license.

Additional Requirements

• Current or in-progress Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
• Proof of up-to-date influenza vaccination and compliance with relevant public health immunization policies.

Work Conditions

Employment is permanent and full-time with 38-hour work weeks at WMH in Werribee, Victoria.
