Occupational Therapist

Job Overview

As an Occupational Therapist at Almoosa Health Group, you will support patients in developing, regaining, or maintaining their capabilities for daily living and professional skills. Your role involves assisting individuals in enhancing motor functions, cognitive abilities, and everyday tasks including dressing, cooking, and using technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients in regaining or maintaining basic motor skills and reasoning capabilities.
• Support patients through activities from computer use to self-care routines such as eating and dressing.
• Apply physical exercises to improve patients' strength and dexterity.
• Utilize advanced therapeutic methods to enhance decision-making, problem-solving, perceptual skills, memory, sequencing, and coordination.
• Train patients with permanent disabilities to use adaptive devices like wheelchairs and orthotics.
• Design or fabricate specialized equipment to aid patients at home or work.
• Coordinate with employers to evaluate work environments, adjust tasks, and monitor patient progress for successful job performance.
• Assess hazards in patients’ homes, workplaces, or classrooms and recommend safety improvements or restorative adaptations.
• Educate families and caregivers on safe and effective care approaches for individuals under treatment.
• Monitor patient improvements and document progress in detailed reports.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, tailored to the work setting.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Previous work experience in occupational therapy is considered an advantage but not mandatory.
