About the Role

Become an integral member of a dynamic and dedicated team prioritizing client wellbeing at APM New Zealand. We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Palmerston North. This role favors those with expertise in pain management and concussion rehabilitation, aiming to make a tangible impact across varied client groups and environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered care in various settings including homes, workplaces, and community sites.
• Work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams focused on persistent pain management and concussion rehabilitation.
• Employ clinical knowledge to support pain management strategies, including behavior change techniques, pacing, and education for self-management.
• Assess and treat concussion and mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries, including cervical spine, vestibular, and oculomotor system evaluations.
• Coordinate closely with general practitioners, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in pain management and concussion services.
• Strong clinical reasoning capabilities adaptable to diverse client needs.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
• Experience delivering rehabilitation that is centered around the client within the community.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients, their families (whanau), and stakeholders.
• Understanding of biopsychosocial approaches to health.
