About the Role

Starwalkers is seeking a licensed Pediatric Occupational Therapist based in Dubai for a full-time, on-site position. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and supporting children's sensory, motor, and activities of daily living (ADL) skills. The therapist will develop personalized therapy plans, collaborate closely with parents and caregivers to provide training, and utilize neurodiversity-affirming practices that emphasize the clients’ unique strengths and needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adopt and practice a Neurodiversity-Affirming therapeutic philosophy or demonstrate readiness to learn this approach.
  • Conduct sensory-based assessments and collaborate with clients, families, and professionals to implement sensory strategies enhancing performance and executive functioning.
  • Employ a strength-focused method emphasizing sensory regulation instead of enforcing compliance or sitting tolerance.
  • Participate in co-therapy sessions in partnership with Speech Language Pathologists as part of the therapeutic team.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and produce official client reports following Starwalkers’ formats.
  • Engage in individualized care plan meetings, conduct data reviews, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of online resources and webinars aimed at coaching parents on Sensory Integration Therapy.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Hold a valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills.
  • Preferred candidates are Neurodiversity-Affirming and Sensory Integration certified.
  • Should already utilize a strength-based approach and be eager to work with children.

Additional Information

Initial employment includes an intensive two-week training involving video sessions and self-study focused on neurodiversity paradigms and competencies vital for working with autistic children and their families.
