Role Overview

The Occupational Therapist will be employed full-time on campus at DPS Varanasi, providing comprehensive support to students in their functional, cognitive, and social development. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations to identify student needs, creating tailored intervention plans, and administering therapy sessions designed to enhance abilities related to self-care, motor coordination, sensory processing, and classroom engagement. This role demands close cooperation with educators, school counselors, administrators, and families to embed therapeutic tactics across classroom and extracurricular settings.

Key Duties

• Perform thorough assessments of student developmental and learning challenges.
• Design and implement individual intervention strategies to support skill improvement.
• Apply therapies targeting motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living activities.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, counselors, administrators, and parents to facilitate therapy integration.
• Maintain detailed records, track student progress, and provide adaptation recommendations for classrooms.
• Lead training workshops for school staff and caregivers on therapeutic methods and inclusive practices.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings ensuring coordinated care and support.
• Contribute to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive educational environment for all students.

Candidate Profile

• Possess formal qualifications and training in Occupational Therapy, specifically for pediatric applications.
• Experienced in assessment, intervention development, and rehabilitation within educational or pediatric contexts.
• Knowledgeable about child development, neurodevelopmental disorders, and related medical concerns impacting learning.
• Strong communication skills to engage with children, families, educators, and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Holds a recognized degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy, with appropriate national or state registration or licensure.
• Demonstrated ability to create individualized education plans and integrate therapeutic goals into academic activities.
• Proficient in maintaining accurate documentation, report writing, and use of basic computer tools.
• Committed to principles of inclusive education, child safety, ethical standards, and ongoing professional growth.
