About the Role

Join the Brighter Beginnings program, an innovative health partnership between NSW Health and the NSW Department of Education focused on health and developmental screening, assessment, and early intervention for preschool-aged children in Western Sydney. Serving communities from the Blacktown and Merrylands Community Health Centres, you will be part of a passionate multidisciplinary team dedicated to enhancing child and family outcomes in critical early development years.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead developmental screening, comprehensive assessment, and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions for children under four years old.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary health professionals, educators, families, and community stakeholders to deliver coordinated care.
• Empower parents, early childhood educators, and health staff by providing education, coaching, and tailored therapeutic recommendations.
• Maintain detailed clinical documentation, reports, and outcome measures compliant with professional standards and legislative requirements.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement, service development, research, and the promotion of best-practice paediatric care.

Essential Qualifications and Criteria

• Occupational Therapy qualification matching Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award.
• General registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
• Experience delivering paediatric occupational therapy services.
• Ability to work effectively with families from a variety of psychosocial, socioeconomic, and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and alongside early childhood education staff.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice principles and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with a range of computer applications.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence and readiness to use it for professional responsibilities.

• Annual Salary Range: $79,419 to $113,301
