Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a mid-level Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team based in Dubai. This vital role involves working directly with patients to enhance their functional independence and overall quality of life. You will be responsible for formulating and executing personalized treatment plans tailored to a diverse range of patient needs within a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinical environment. This position is onsite and focuses on delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions that make a meaningful impact on patients' everyday activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial status.
- Create and carry out customized treatment plans aimed at enhancing daily living skills, work abilities, and community integration.
- Facilitate therapy sessions using proven methods, adaptive tools, and modifications to the environment aligned with patient-specific goals.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare specialists to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care while modifying treatment approaches as needed.
- Maintain thorough documentation of patient progress, clinical notes, and prepare necessary reports for insurers and healthcare providers.
- Provide education to patients and their caregivers on adaptive strategies, home safety, and use of assistive devices to promote sustained recovery.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid Occupational Therapist license or a professional eligibility certificate issued by Dubai Health Authority (DHA) prior to commencement.
- Minimum qualification of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Between three and seven years of clinical occupational therapy experience in settings such as acute care, rehabilitation, or community health.
- In-depth knowledge of occupational therapy assessment instruments and treatment approaches.
- Proficient communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
- Preferred: Experience working with culturally diverse patient groups or in multicultural environments.
- Preferred: Certifications in specialized areas like hand therapy, neurorehabilitation, or pediatric occupational therapy.
