Role Overview
ATS Services LTD. is currently seeking Observer-Communicators to become part of our team in the Northwest Territories of Canada. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute within a globally recognized company by supporting the aviation sector through critical meteorological data provision.
Key Responsibilities
The Observer-Communicator is responsible for conducting hourly and special weather observations that provide up-to-date meteorological conditions. Reports generated include detailed information about cloud types, heights, coverage, visibility, precipitation details, wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity levels, and atmospheric pressure. These observations are essential as they are transmitted to and utilized by a variety of national agencies.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Availability to work on a rotating shift schedule
- Dependable transportation to and from the work site
Following a successful interview, candidates will participate in a mandatory training program held in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. This instructional course spans between 9 to 11 weeks and covers all necessary skills for the Observer-Communicator role. While the training itself is free, ATS Services will cover travel, lodging, and provide a modest per diem for meals and incidentals. Note that training attendance is unpaid.
