Role Overview

The Nursing Lecturer position is a full-time, on-campus role situated in Dunedin City. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously refining nursing education materials, including lectures, tutorials, practical labs, and clinical instruction. Key duties involve developing curricula that meet contemporary nursing and healthcare standards, evaluating student performance, offering guidance to foster academic growth, and supporting overall student achievement.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and assess educational content across theoretical and practical nursing domains.
• Collaborate with academic peers in course design and development initiatives.
• Engage in applied research or scholarly activities related to nursing education.
• Maintain active professional nursing practice to ensure up-to-date teaching informed by current medical knowledge.
• Participate in school committees, quality control processes, and build community or industry partnerships to enrich nursing education.

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive expertise in nursing practice and nursing education, capable of bridging theoretical content with clinical application.
• Proven skills in curriculum design for higher education nursing programs.
• Solid understanding of medicine and critical care necessary to support evidence-based and safe learning environments.
• Possession of an accredited nursing qualification with current or eligible registration from the relevant nursing council.
• Prior experience in tertiary education or clinical teaching, encompassing student supervision and evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to research or scholarly projects.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills coupled with cultural awareness and dedication to equitable, inclusive education practices.
• Postgraduate qualifications or ongoing postgraduate studies in nursing, education, or related fields are highly preferred.
