About the Role

Advance Medical Practice invites applications for an endorsed Nurse Practitioner to join our Westmead location, working closely alongside our General Practitioners. This position offers flexible working hours and is ideally suited for a Nurse Practitioner focused on managing chronic diseases.

Candidates must hold current endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia; applications from Registered Nurses without this endorsement will not be considered.

Our practice prioritizes delivering exceptional patient care by adopting a comprehensive approach to diagnosing and managing illnesses, emphasizing health promotion, wellbeing, and disease prevention. We serve a diverse patient population, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The practice integrates multiple allied health services such as podiatry, physiotherapy, pharmacy, dietetics, Aboriginal health workers, and ultrasound.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct independent patient assessment, diagnosis, and management within your authorized scope of practice.
• Prescribe medications and order, interpret diagnostic tests following scope guidelines.
• Manage chronic diseases through care planning and regular reviews.
• Perform comprehensive health assessments and preventative health screenings.
• Provide referrals to specialists and allied health professionals when necessary.
• Maintain thorough and precise patient records utilizing clinical software.
• Collaborate effectively with General Practitioners, nursing personnel, and administrative teams.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with Nurse Practitioner endorsement.
• Possession of a Master of Nurse Practitioner degree or equivalent qualification.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Professional indemnity insurance coverage.
• Legal eligibility to work in Australia (citizenship, permanent residency, or valid visa).
• Devotion to maintaining high patient care standards and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven interest and experience in managing chronic diseases.
• Familiarity with Best Practice clinical software.
• Experience practicing in general practice or primary care environments.
