Job description
Role Overview
The Nurse Educator is responsible for designing, implementing, and assessing educational programs tailored for clinical staff, with a concentration on oncology, chemotherapy, and biotherapy training.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the success of onboarding and continuous training initiatives.
- Create and promote skill enhancement opportunities for clinical teams.
- Ensure programs adhere to professional standards such as those set by the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).
- Support competency assessments and clinical evaluations.
- Serve as an accessible clinical resource and guide for preceptors.
- Perform clinical site visits to maintain training quality and develop clinical procedures.
- Engage in pilot projects and actively participate in staff-related meetings.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse license in the state.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- A minimum of five years' experience in hematology or oncology nursing settings.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate educational programs effectively.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness and capacity to travel frequently for clinical site visits and trainings.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical nursing practice.
- Promote a supportive and collaborative team atmosphere.
