About the Role

The Night Shift Supervisor will oversee and coordinate construction operations during the night shift on a mining project based in Wells, British Columbia. The candidate should have advanced through roles in mining or heavy civil industries into construction supervision, bringing hands-on experience in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) leadership. They will act as a visible leader, promoting accountability, mentoring team members, and fostering a culture prioritizing safe and efficient production. This position requires operating on a two weeks on/two weeks off FIFO schedule and working in remote camp environments across North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all night shift construction tasks ensuring safety, efficiency, and alignment with project timelines
  • Manage field personnel, subcontractors, equipment operators, and trades across various work areas
  • Plan daily activities, manage shift transitions, and coordinate crew assignments in collaboration with Construction Superintendent and day shift leaders
  • Track productivity, quality standards, and resource usage to meet project goals
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence through active leadership and crew engagement
  • Ensure adherence to project specs, company standards, client directives, and regulatory requirements
  • Champion a proactive safety environment via coaching, mentoring, and exemplary conduct
  • Perform site inspections, safety observations, toolbox talks, and workplace audits
  • Review and confirm Job Hazard Analyses, Safe Work Procedures, permits, and plans for high-risk or critical lifts
  • Lead incident reporting, investigations, corrective measures, and follow-ups
  • Identify risks and enforce practical hazard controls prior to beginning work
  • Work closely with HSE teams to implement and sustain effective site safety programs
  • Complete comprehensive daily shift reports including progress, equipment use, and workforce logs
  • Assist project planning by flagging schedule risks, resource limitations, and continuous improvement potentials
  • Coach and develop supervisors, forepersons, operators, and field personnel
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and various stakeholders
