Role Overview

The News Anchor position is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, requiring the presentation of news stories through live and recorded segments on various digital and broadcast platforms. Core daily activities encompass reviewing and drafting scripts, coordinating with producers and reporters, verifying facts, and preparing for interviews as well as special features. The role includes active participation in editorial meetings, story development contributions, tailoring content formats for different audiences, engaging viewers on digital channels, and ensuring compliance with journalistic ethics. Support for the wider content and production teams is also part of the responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Present news stories visually on camera across digital and broadcast outlets.
• Review, write, and adapt news scripts and segments.
• Collaborate effectively with producers, reporters, camera operators, and editors.
• Verify facts and information prior to broadcasts.
• Prepare and conduct interviews and special news features.
• Participate in editorial meetings and assist in story ideation and development.
• Engage with the audience through digital platforms adhering to professional standards.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-centric environment maintaining high journalistic integrity.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient reporting capabilities including information gathering, interviewing, and accurate news compilation.
• Experienced in broadcasting and presenting, delivering clear and engaging on-air performances.
• Strong skills in news writing and broadcast journalism aligned with editorial and ethical guidelines.
• Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams within fast-moving environments.
• Preferably holding a degree or diploma in Journalism, Media, Communications, or related disciplines.
• Prior experience as a news anchor, reporter, or presenter in television or digital media settings is strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
• Confident on-camera presence, professional conduct, and awareness of current affairs, particularly regional news.
