Institution Overview
The Institute of Mental Health (IMH), founded in 1928 and located in Buangkok Green Medical Park, is a leading psychiatric facility with 2,000 beds, encompassing 50 inpatient wards and 7 outpatient clinics. IMH also contributes significantly to the education of mental health professionals via the NHG-AHPL Residency Programme and partnerships with academic bodies.
Position Summary
As a Neuropsychologist within the Psychology Department, you will deliver comprehensive neuropsychological care to both inpatients and outpatients. You'll work in close collaboration with multidisciplinary mental health teams to assess and analyze the cognitive abilities of individuals affected by neurological and psychiatric conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and interpret neuropsychological assessments to inform treatment strategies.
- Work jointly with multidisciplinary teams to manage care for patients with brain injuries, neurodegenerative disorders, and psychiatric ailments impacting cognition.
- Conduct both one-on-one and group psychotherapy sessions.
- Engage actively in mental health awareness initiatives and fulfill psychological roles within the institutional framework.
- Offer training sessions and expert advice in neuropsychology.
- Participate in or initiate research activities within neuropsychology and allied disciplines.
Required Competencies
- Strong interpersonal skills coupled with the capability to operate independently in multidisciplinary settings.
- In-depth understanding of neuroanatomy, brain-function correlations, and principles of psychometrics.
- Exceptional skills in data analysis and interpretation of psychological assessments.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
- Master's degree in Neuropsychology or Clinical Neuropsychology from a recognized university.
- Preferably 2 to 3 years of pertinent work experience in neuropsychological evaluations.
- Registration, accreditation, or licensure from a reputable psychological professional body is advantageous.
