Network Security Engineer

About the Position

We seek a seasoned Network Engineer to join our Network Security team, responsible for operating, scaling, and enhancing our network security infrastructure through practical operations, design, and deployment. The candidate must possess robust networking fundamentals and be experienced with security devices like firewalls and proxies.

Our diverse distributed systems depend on a dependable, multi-vendor network infrastructure that facilitates all traffic types, from trading operations to internet access. Managing this complex network involves advanced monitoring and automation tools.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential to collaborate with global teams. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving problems, planning deployments, and enhancing system features. The role leverages advanced networking and security expertise to:

• Partner with the Network Engineering team to design and deploy security perimeter and adjacent network systems
• Oversee and refine network segmentation, DMZ, and other security components continuously
• Test and evaluate new network security platforms in the lab environment
• Work closely with the Cybersecurity team to detect and counteract network threats and vulnerabilities
• Coordinate with application teams and traders to securely support business workflows
• Advance support capabilities by enhancing network observability, scripting, and liaising with software engineers
• Update and improve network security documentation and processes

Candidate Profile

• Possess at least 7 years of experience in network infrastructure deployment and operation
• Proficient with routing and network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and PIM-SM
• Skilled in troubleshooting transport protocols including TCP and UDP
• Have deep knowledge of firewall hardware architecture, performance analysis, and components
• Experienced in configuring and troubleshooting firewall systems
• Understand Public Key Infrastructure and related technologies
• Familiar with modern encryption methods
• Demonstrate strong learning capability; the focus is on cognitive approach and problem solving, not just existing knowledge
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and organizing workload effectively
• Preferably experienced with overlay networks like EVPN and VxLAN
• Reliable, adaptable team member who thrives in collaborative settings
• Programming language proficiency is advantageous
• Fluent in English
