Network Security Engineer

Role Overview

This position involves comprehensive management and maintenance of network security infrastructure using Cisco and Palo Alto technologies in a remote working environment based in Doha, Qatar.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage configuration, troubleshooting, and administration of Cisco routing and switching systems.
• Oversee and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network setups.
• Carry out network improvements, upgrades, and optimizations to enhance performance.
• Analyze network performance metrics and conduct capacity planning exercises.
• Configure and manage Cisco Firepower/ASA and Palo Alto firewalls including policy enforcement.
• Implement firewall rules, NAT, VPN solutions, and other network security controls.
• Perform security reinforcement measures such as hardening systems and addressing vulnerabilities.
• Monitor network security and investigate incidents to promptly resolve threats.

Educational and Technical Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Telecommunications or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
• Expertise in Cisco firewalls (ASA and Firepower) plus Palo Alto firewalls.
• Proficient with Cisco Catalyst series switches and routing technologies.
• Experience managing Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and VPN technologies including Site-to-Site and Remote Access.
• Strong knowledge of network security best practices and troubleshooting techniques.

Certifications

• Certifications like CCNA or CCNP Enterprise and CCNP Security are desired.
• Palo Alto PCNSA or PCNSE certifications are advantageous.
• Cisco ISE certification is preferred.
