Network Administrator & DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator & DevOps Engineer based in Doha, Qatar. The position involves overseeing network performance and security, alongside developing and maintaining modern DevOps infrastructure and processes in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network systems for performance, availability, and security issues, responding promptly to any alerts or incidents.
• Diagnose and resolve network problems related to connectivity, packet loss, latency, routing, switching, and bandwidth constraints.
• Conduct network configuration, perform routine maintenance, execute upgrades, and apply security hardening measures.
• Operate and troubleshoot major networking platforms, including Cisco, Palo Alto, and FortiGate devices.
• Deploy and manage firewall systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and other network security tools.
• Partner with software development and operations teams to design, implement, and upkeep CI/CD pipelines.
• Administer both on-premises and cloud infrastructure ensuring high availability, reliability, scalability, and robust security.
• Manage Kubernetes environments by scaling and maintaining pods, services, deployments, and persistent volumes.
• Implement Kubernetes monitoring solutions, logging processes, alerting systems, and conduct troubleshooting activities.
• Create and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) configurations using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Automate configuration management leveraging platforms like Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack.
• Utilize containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes to streamline deployments.
• Support disaster recovery protocols and participate in an on-call schedule to uphold 24/7 availability of services.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and operational best practices.

Candidate Requirements

• A solid track record with 7–8 or more years of experience in networking engineering, DevOps, Network Operations Center (NOC), or closely related fields.
• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
• Proficient understanding of TCP/IP suite, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching concepts.
• Experience using network monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or PRTG.
• Hands-on knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform; familiarity with Git and Terraform is essential.
• Work experience with database systems like Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Firm grasp of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of network security policies and best practices.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and/or Linux certifications are advantageous.
• Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or CompTIA Network+ will add value.
• Fluency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of Arabic is considered an additional benefit.
