Role Overview
The Natural Resources Manager will oversee the evaluation, management, development, conservation, and sustainable use of natural resources throughout the organization's projects and operations. This role demands a mix of technical expertise, strategic planning, environmental knowledge, regulatory compliance, project and risk management, stakeholder engagement, and commercial insight.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute natural resource management strategies that align with company goals, sustainability commitments, legal requirements, and long-term resource plans.
- Lead evaluation, planning, development, conservation, utilization, and monitoring of natural resources in operational areas.
- Perform resource assessments addressing availability, quality, developmental needs, constraints, and sustainability projections.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary technical studies involving geology, hydrology, ecology, environmental factors, land use, and other resource-related domains.
- Collaborate with teams including Engineering, Operations, Environmental, HSE, Sustainability, Geology, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Project Management.
- Create resource-management plans encompassing extraction, utilization, conservation, restoration, environmental protection, and operational demands.
- Monitor resource utilization ensuring compliance with permits, environmental standards, and sustainability objectives.
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency, minimize waste and environmental impact, and maximize long-term resource value.
- Support feasibility analyses and investment evaluations for resource projects, infrastructure, development programs, and environmental initiatives.
- Conduct economic and commercial evaluations including capital expenditure, operational costs, risks, and expected returns.
- Maintain comprehensive natural-resource databases, GIS datasets, technical records, inventory data, monitoring information, permits, project documentation, and management reports.
- Define and track KPIs related to resource use, environmental performance, operational efficiency, compliance, and strategic outcomes.
- Oversee environmental and resource monitoring programs to detect changes, risks, degradation, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure all resource-related activities adhere to environmental laws, land-use regulations, permits, regulatory standards, HSE protocols, and organizational policies.
- Develop and sustain relationships with government bodies, regulators, landowners, local communities, consultants, contractors, and external experts.
- Assist with regulatory processes including applications, licensing, permitting, approvals, assessments, and reporting.
- Assess environmental, technical, operational, regulatory, financial, and stakeholder risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Manage external service providers such as consultants, contractors, environmental specialists, surveyors, labs, and technical advisors.
- Review and endorse technical reports, environmental assessments, resource studies, monitoring results, and consultant outputs.
- Contribute to land-use planning, rehabilitation, restoration, biodiversity conservation, water management, waste management, and related environmental programs as necessary.
- Design and promote resource conservation and sustainability initiatives focused on efficiency and environmental impact reduction.
- Stay informed about evolving regulations, environmental standards, climate risks, market trends, technological advances, and best practices.
- Evaluate new technologies and management methods to improve resource assessment, conservation, utilization, and operational productivity.
- Prepare strategic reports, technical presentations, investment recommendations, risk analyses, plans, and executive updates.
- Provide expert advice to senior management on resource challenges, opportunities, risks, compliance, and sustainability perspectives.

Candidate Profile
- Strong background in natural resource or environmental management, geology, mining, water resources, forestry, land management, energy, sustainability, or related fields.
- Experience with resource assessment, sustainable management, development, conservation, or regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with complex infrastructure, energy, mining, land development, environmental, water, or resource management projects is an asset.
- Capability to develop and implement resource or environmental management plans.
- Comprehensive knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance standards.
- Proven ability to coordinate technical studies and multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong project and risk management skills.
- Experience liaising with government authorities, consultants, contractors, and community stakeholders.
- Analytical acumen and problem-solving capacity.
- Ability to interpret technical data, environmental reports, and management documentation.

- Experience in the UAE or broader Middle East region is beneficial.
