Native Android Developer

About the Role

Kudo is seeking a skilled Android Developer to design, develop, and maintain its native Android trading application. This application is a critical financial product requiring performance sensitivity to handle features such as real-time quote streaming, interactive charting, order execution flows, account management, payments and withdrawals, as well as secure authentication and compliance processes.

The application must provide a premium user experience, prioritizing speed, stability, and security under real-time market conditions. Kudo is committed to a native-first development strategy to achieve long-term scalability and robust security.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain a high-performing Android app written in Kotlin.
• Ensure smooth and responsive UI performance especially during real-time data streaming.
• Deliver a polished and production-grade user interface.
• Implement WebSocket-based streaming for real-time market quotes and manage efficient state updates under high-frequency data conditions.
• Build and integrate charting components with features like candlestick visuals, indicators, and gesture controls, ensuring fluid pinch/zoom, pan, and crosshair interactions.
• Design fast and dependable order placement workflows, optimizing interactions such as tap-to-request and handling network instability gracefully.
• Integrate with backend APIs, manage secure authentication flows using OAuth 2 and OIDC protocols, and maintain safe session and token handling.
• Implement financial-grade security measures including Android Keystore encrypted storage, certificate pinning, root detection, and runtime integrity safeguards.
• Incorporate Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver trade confirmations, price alerts, and compliance messages.
• Collaborate with backend developers and iOS engineers to continuously enhance app performance and features.
• Manage app releases and updates on Google Play Store.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience developing native Android apps using Kotlin.
• Background in financial technology fields such as brokerage, CFD, or trading platforms.
• Proficient knowledge of Android app performance optimization and profiling tools including Android Studio Profiler.
• Experience in building applications that handle real-time or large volume data updates.
• Strong command of RESTful APIs and WebSocket technologies.
• Practical knowledge of Android security best practices, including encrypted storage and certificate pinning.
• Familiar with the Google Play Store submission process and version control.

Preferred Experience

• Development of specialized trading or charting applications.
• Handling of high-frequency data update scenarios.
• Expertise in performance-critical user interface rendering.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance issues related to financial apps.
