National Mechanical Lead

Overview

This senior role is ideal for a seasoned mechanical engineer looking to steer the mechanical services discipline, influence design strategies, and mentor emerging professionals. Based in Brisbane, Canberra, Newcastle, or Sydney offices, the National Mechanical Lead will direct mechanical projects and contribute strategic input alongside clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Steer technically challenging mechanical projects from initial concept through to construction with autonomy over project execution methods.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, hydraulic, and lighting engineers, to shape innovative integrated designs.
• Develop and cultivate lasting relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 clients, playing a crucial role in securing and expanding business.
• Mentor and lead teams of engineers, fostering their professional growth and consulting capabilities.
• Enhance personal and company brand recognition within the industry through thought leadership and high-quality consultancy.

Essential Requirements

• Extensive experience as a mechanical consultant within the Australian market.
• Mechanical Engineering tertiary qualification.
• Proven leadership in guiding projects and teams beyond just project delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to earn and maintain client trust.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or aspiring Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) certification within 1-2 years.
• Skilled in mechanical design aspects including heat load calculations, system design, equipment selection, and coordination.
