Job description
About the Opportunity
We are assembling a pioneering engineering team tasked with building Africa's sovereign AI and GPU infrastructure, hosted in Kenya and utilizing NVIDIA H200 hardware. This foundational team in Nairobi is currently recruiting for several key technical positions.
Available Positions
- Distributed Systems & Platform Engineer (2 vacancies): Develop the orchestration layer ensuring robust, resilient management of distributed GPU infrastructure under various failure states, load conditions, and scaling challenges. Essential expertise includes consensus protocols, data replication, and managing failure modes. Preferred programming language is Go; Rust or C++ also acceptable.
- MLOps / ML Infrastructure Engineer (2 vacancies): Enhance performance for actual workloads running on NVIDIA H200 GPUs with a focus beyond machine learning theory to kernel-level optimizations. Candidates must have hands-on experience with Triton Inference Server, CUDA/C++ programming, or PyTorch CUDA extensions.
- Backend & API Engineer (1 vacancy): Design and implement resilient backend systems supporting thousands of AI inference job submissions at scale. Candidates should have substantial expertise in backend architecture utilizing Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript/Node.js technologies.
Location and Eligibility
