Moulding Machine Operator

About the Role

The Moulding Machine Operator position at MGS Mfg. Group, located in Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland, involves ensuring that all molded parts meet customer standards by visually inspecting and measuring them using various tools. Operators must ensure accurate packing of parts as per specifications and maintain comprehensive documentation during shifts in alignment with Good Documentation Practice (GDocP).

Core Responsibilities

• Monitor quality by visually and instrumentally inspecting parts, recording measurements, flagging discrepancies, and verifying counts often through weighing and scale calibration.
• Determine part status (acceptance or rejection) following proper procedures and package finished products according to customer requirements, ensuring correct placement thereafter.
• Complete daily machine reporting, including machine shot counts, press scrap data, cycle times, and production totals.
• Utilize and understand Statistical Process Control (SPC) to oversee product quality, entering relevant data into computer systems.
• Follow all safety practices related to machinery and equipment use, including wearing necessary personal protective equipment such as gowns, caps, and safety shoes. Maintain procedures and documentation to comply with ISO9001:2000, ISO13485, and ISO14001 quality and environmental management standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Prior experience in manufacturing environments, preferably under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
• Capability to work a four-cycle shift roster consisting of 12-hour shifts alternating between day and night.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong multitasking ability with excellent communication and health and safety awareness.

Desirable Attributes

• Additional manufacturing experience.
• Health and safety certification advantageous.

Decision-Making Responsibilities

• Handling physical movement of materials, inventory, and packing tasks.
• Maintaining accurate inventory records using the ERP system.
• Reporting health, safety, or compliance issues promptly to management.

Key Internal and External Relationships

• Collaboration with Production teams, Shift Supervisors, Warehouse Operators, and Warehouse Supervisors.
• Interaction with delivery drivers for logistical coordination.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and loud noise.
• Warehouse setting requiring use of suitable personal protective equipment.
• Possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles.

Salary and Benefits

The basic annual salary is €29,970.63, with total compensation including shift and Sunday premiums amounting to €36,863.88.
