Job Overview

This permanent, full-time motor claims handler role based in Dublin 16 reports directly to the Claims Operations Manager. The position involves close interaction with both claims and underwriting teams to ensure efficient claims resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service while carefully capturing essential data upon claim notification.
• Proactively manage all incoming communications to facilitate timely and cost-effective claim settlements.
• Handle correspondence from claimants, assessors, garages, solicitors, and other stakeholders to prevent unnecessary escalation and control duration-related expenses.
• Perform initial desktop investigations to determine indemnity and liability decisions where feasible.
• Negotiate claim settlements professionally and fairly with involved parties.
• Manage a portfolio of claims from start to full resolution.
• Escalate claim complexities promptly to the Claims Manager for appropriate handling.
• Conduct periodic file and reserve reviews to maintain compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Achieve personal performance objectives aligned with team goals.
• Execute additional duties as assigned by management.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of two years experience in motor claims handling.
• APA qualified or grandfathered status, with preference for candidates progressing towards CIP accreditation.
• Strong customer orientation with the ability to establish mutually beneficial solutions.
• Familiarity with underwriting principles, relevant laws, claims regulations, and motor legislation including compliance requirements.
• Methodical, structured working approach coupled with effective problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent negotiation and sound decision-making skills.
• Capacity to work independently with initiative.
• Flexible and able to prioritize workload to meet objectives.
• Outstanding communication and telephone skills.
• Team-oriented, proactive, positive, and highly motivated attitude.
