Role Overview

As a Mortgage Loan Officer at Banner Bank, you will join a high-performing Mortgage Lending team honored with the 2020 Residential Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Award by the Mortgage Bankers Association. Our team excels at generating real estate loans that meet stringent economic and safety criteria, helping ensure the bank's ongoing financial success.

Key Responsibilities

• Source real estate loans through multiple channels including realtor referrals via structured outreach, contractor networks (both clients and external), branch referrals, personal networks, as well as walk-in and call-in customers.
• Manage loan documentation by setting up and processing applications within the Bank's system for underwriting submission.
• Create and distribute financing information at property listings and open houses; participate in weekend open houses and subdivisions for loan generation.
• Engage regularly with Realtor and Builder Association events to foster networking and lead development.
• Attend both internal and external sales and training sessions to maintain industry knowledge and sales effectiveness.
• Meet with clients at banking locations for applications and conduct or assist with loan closings as required.
• Promote homeownership through targeted community outreach near branch locations, focusing on inclusive marketing strategies. Activities include first-time homebuyer education classes and presence at nonprofit community events.
• Adhere strictly to all relevant policies, procedures, security standards, and applicable government regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is mandatory; a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields is preferred.
• Required NMLS registration.
• Minimum of three years residential mortgage origination experience.
• Demonstrated consistent success in closing loans and meeting sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of loan origination procedures, underwriting, regulations, and mortgage-related compliance.
• Excellent communication and negotiation capabilities in both verbal and written formats.
• Understanding of real estate market trends, sales competition, and effective sales strategies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant federal and state real estate lending laws and regulations.

Work Requirements

Up to 20% travel is expected to fulfill job responsibilities including open houses and events.

• Guaranteed monthly base of $3,800 (excluding ramp-up period).
